Derek serves as Cumming’s Executive Vice President over the firm’s worldwide cost management practice. Leveraging his experience as a UK trained Quantity Surveyor, Derek provides leadership in the areas of Cost Management and Estimating, Cost Engineering, Economic Forecasting, Value Management, and Project Controls. Additionally, Derek serves as Cumming’s Sector Leader for Hospitality, where he remains actively engaged on numerous high-profile projects for industry leaders such as Hyatt, Hilton, Marriott Vacation Club International (MVCI) and Ritz Carlton.
Derek holds a Bachelors degree in Quantity Surveying from Glasgow Caledonian University (UK), and is an active member of the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACE) and the American Resort Development Association (ARDA).
