Long Beach Unified School District commissioned a new school for 800 students, reducing school crowding and out-district bussing, and repurposing low income industrial land for a growing community. The first District school to use California's Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS) green design principles, the $15.5 million K-5 school includes multiple sustainable design features, has a joint-use gymnasium, and adjoins a park. Cumming cost estimators contributed to every stage of design. |
